Merv Stark

Former Consul Commercial, Senior Trade Commissioner & Regional Director – North Asia for the New Zealand Government’s Economic Development agency – NZTE. Merv personally devised and developed the “New Zealand Focus "concept which the NZ Govt established in Hong Kong in September 2005. Merv also directed the NZ Governments major strategic projects in North Asia. He was the architect of the Government's "Asia Strategy Plan" for the advancement of NZ interests in North Asia.

Merv has an extensive international business career, the last 14 years based in Asia. He is experienced in establishing business operations, company restructuring, mergers and acquisitions in foreign markets, including dealing with foreign regulatory bodies in Asia. He has an understanding of and empathy with Asian cultures and business practices.

He is a member of the New Zealand Government’s Hong Kong Business Advisory Board.

Wendy Yuen

Former Director, New Zealand Focus Complex in Hong Kong. 'NZ Focus' was a New Zealand Government initiative. Wendy was a Trade Development Executive with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for a period of 2 years before accepting the challenge to oversee the design, build and fit out of the NZ$2 million project. Once completed, Wendy directed the Complex that encompassed a Retail shop, Demonstration Centre, Exihibition space and Reception centre.

Wendy has visited New Zealand frequently and has engaged directly with many NZ exporters to access their 'export readiness' and to guide them on entry to Hong Kong and China markets. Wendy joined NZTE in 2003 and remained until the closure of the focus centre in Dec 2010.

Prior to joining NZTE, Wendy was Assitant Vice President of the ironore department, one of the commodity trading divisions of Noble Group Ltd. In this position, she was in charge of all sales and purchasing contracts. In the past, Wendy has held several administrative and business development positions, where she gained a wide range of experience within leading corporations in Hong Kong.

Justin Chen

Justin studied and worked in Auckland for seven years during which time he graduated from UNITEC with a Bachelor of Finance degree. Justin now resides in Shanghai where the company he owns is based.

His company specialises in New Zealand products as Justin has a huge passion to bring high quality New Zealand products to China.
